dr. Luis Bartolomé

Short biography

In 2006, Luis Bartolomé was graduated in Physics (Solid State Physics specialty) by the Faculty of Science and Technology, University of the Basque Country (Bilbao, Spain). That same year, Luis Bartolomé got employed as research fellow in the Acoustic and Vibration Department of Fagor-Hometek, the innovation center of Fagor (appliances manufacturer). In 2008, he enrolled in the Faculty of Engineering (University of Mondragon) to earn the master’s degree in Mechanical Behaviour and Materials. At the same time, he was employed as researcher (PhD student) in the Surface Technology Research Group. In 2012, he defended his PhD thesis entitled “Theoretical, experimental and numerical analysis of mechanical and contact behaviours of a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer used as cover rope in lift industry” under the supervision of Dr. Wilson Tato. In 2013, he got employed as full-time researcher in the R&D Department of Meler Group (hot-melt applicators manufacturer).

In 2014, he received Marie Curie fellowship and joined Laboratory for Tribology and Interface Nanotechnology as post-doctoral researcher under the advice of Prof. Dr. Mitjan Kalin.
