Course Overview

Course scope:

  1. ​​Definitions and terms in the field of maintenance activity, all 11 chapters according to EN 13306.
  2. Fundamental and additional duties of the maintenance department.
  3. Organizational forms of maintenance department.
  4. Maintenance work preparation: organization, duties, responsibilities.
  5. Planning and scheduling maintenance work and activity.
  6. 8 criterions of tribomechanical system stability according to Fitch.
  7. Overview of some typical technical-technological procedures in scope of maintenance activity: vibration, balancing, internal tightness of hydraulic systems (wear), fault diagnostics,...
  8. Planning and designing machines/plants for maintenance and maintainability; general principles of maintainability.
  9. The relation of maintenance profession to the availability of work means.
  10. Technical diagnostics in the maintenance activity.
  11. Ensuring and controlling the proper machine/plant operating parameters and characteristics.
  12. The relation corrective vs. preventive maintenance; explanation of relations, maintenance tree structure, optimizing condition-based maintenance.
  13. The effect of maintenance on the machine/plant service life: technical and cost optimization, bathtub curve.
  14. Evaluating the efficiency of maintenance.
  15. Benchmarking in maintenance.
  16. External maintenance, decision and selecting criteria, the basics of maintenance contracts.
  17. Assessing and managing risks in maintenance, decisions on the replacement of elements or assemblies.
  18. Weibull analysis. Instruments and other aids for the execution of maintenance work and activity.
  19. The cooperation of maintenance professionals (department) in the investment and/or reconstruction planning and execution phase, and later during the machine/plant testing phase.
  20. Maintenance technical documentation (project for realisation, project of implemented works): the documentation content and chapters.
