New 3D digital microscope

With an additional nano confocal profilometer for non-destructive characterisation.
Laboratory for Tribology and Interface Nanotechnology recently acquired a state-of-the-art 3D digital microscope with additional nano confocal profilometer Hirox HRX-01 & NPS. The device is capable of high resolution nano characterisation of surfaces and surfaces films and simultaneous micro geometric characterisation of real engineering components in mm dimension. Its key property and advantage is the sub-micron surface and geometric characterisation of large engineering components, such as gears, bearings etc., which allows for full non-destructive characterisation.
