The Laboratory for Tribology and Interface Nanotechnology (TINT), which employs over 30 experts in the fields of mechanical engineering, materials, chemistry, physics and nanotechnologies, is recognised nationally and internationally for its innovation and knowledge in researching and providing technological solutions in the field of surface nanotechnologies, boundary lubrication and tribochemistry, contact mechanics, development of functional surfaces, contact engineering, and control of friction and wear mechanisms in systems with classical and advanced materials at the nano and macro scale. The combination of theoretical approaches and a large number of state-of-the-art equipment in tribology, surface metrology, chemical analysis, lubricants, nanoscale topographical and mechanical characterisation and home-built problem-related devices ensures accurate experimental evaluation and solution for almost any industrial or scientific problem related to tribological contacts. With one of the leading roles in the field of environmentally friendly, green lubrication technologies, it ensures comprehensive and effective sustainable treatment of the most challenging tribological problems in technical systems.
