Karim Hamouda

Short biography

Shortly after graduating from high school in 2009, he pursued a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from the British University in Egypt. He completed his studies in 2014 with a thesis title A Multiscale Model for the prediction of fatigue failure in steel. In 2015, he joined the Erasmus Mundus Master Tribos program where he graduated in 2017 with the thesis title Bronze-Steel friction characteristics under the lubrication of modified Water/Glycerol Mixtures from Lulea University of Technology. In the same year, he was then employed as a Young researcher at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Ljubljana, in order to continue his PhD studies under the mentorship of Prof. Mitjan Kalin to investigate the real contact area experimentally.
